About the Author

Elite was crafted by Ron Dussiaume


Elite Hockey Education and Development Corporation was founded by the late Ron Dussiaume. Ron thrived on opportunities and challenges and brought many years of experience as a professional hockey player, coach, author, and trainer of coaches into the Elite Hockey series.

Ron was also author and inventor of the Mitron High Performance Hockey System and Training Centre. He was the Best Selling author of over forty hockey manuals that have been purchased by coaches in Europe, USA and Canada. Ron was an Advanced Level 5 Coach, only 1 of 17 in all of Canada and eligible to coach Olympic Hockey.

Ron Dussiaume was drafted 9th overall in the 1966 NHL draft by the Chicago Black Hawks. Ron played 3 years for the Oshawa Generals along with Bobby Orr winning the Memorial Cup. Ron was also part of the Dallas Black Hawks of the AHL who went on to win the Calder Cup in 1972. Ron also played for the Rochester Americans who was coached by Don Cherry and played on the AHL All-Star team that played an exhibition game against the 1972 Soviet Union team that played the now famous 1972 Summit Series against Canada.

He was been appointed by the Coaching Association Of Canada as a "Master Course Conductor" for the province of Ontario, for the National Coaching Certification Program since 1979 and continues to hold this position. His experience includes coaching at the minor, junior, and university levels and consulting at the professional level. His achievements include the following: Athlete of the Year, Laurentian University, 1968; Professional Championship Hockey Team, 1971-72; and Coach of the Year, NOHA Junior A, 1983, Associate Coach of the Mississauga Ice Bears Hockey Club of the NWHL.

Ron has trained elite athletes and coaches since 1976 (including Junior and Pro Players). He trained players who have gone on to have NHL careers.
